i know man, i was just giving you a hard time. just in case pete missed it. now days theres not much difference in the cheap batteries and the top dollar. we see it here all day long. what kills batteries for the most part is spent plate material lodging between plate and shorting a section of plate, thus reducing the batteries ability to generate cca's. the only way to increase cca on a 31 series battery is to jamb more plates into the carcass. this increases the ability of plates to short out and reduces the usable life of the battery. my suggestion in a 2 battery situation is to reduce the individual cca per battery. you'll still have plenty of power on hand, but the internal shorting of plates will be reduced. of course all of this is irrelevant if you step up and by optimas or equivilent.

Now that i think about it i could have made them fit if i really tried... Yeah i have experience first hand with cheep batteries. Buy two new interstates and forget about it for 6yrs.. mine gave out at 7yrs on my juice sucking powerstroke. Also thought about mounting the batteries behind the seat in the cab.

now there is a winner... two big batterys in cab with some super heavy guage wire going to two bulkhead terminals on the firewall

Buy marine batteries, they are built more robust internally than regular batts.

Thanks Daryl! I don't miss much, but it's tough carrying the whole load all the time. It's nice when somebody helps out. ;)

Huh, do ya'll really think two acid bombs riding around in the cab with you is a good idea. If they boil there's gonna be a bad fume for you to breathe in, and ya optimas produce a gas as well,or something of the sort. I've seen a couple of second gens with optimas that have lost paint off of their fenders.
