ABS Sensor on rear axle....different use????

I was wondering if the rear abs sensor is a hall effect sensor. Anyone know? I have swapped a 47rh and a 241DHD transfercase so I no longer have a VSS for a speedometer. If the rear ABS sensor is a hall effect I can utilize it as the sender for an autometer programmable speedo. I would like a speedo that reads a little higher than the stock one and can reprogram it for tire changes/ratio changes since this is my drag truck. I drive it on the street from time to time so I need to know how fast I'm going. Thanks in advance....

Yes it will work. Some have used it along with a signal converter to work with the factory head in 6speed conversions, but I've no idea about the autometer.
