Would the plugged port on the top of the oil fliter housing work?

Yeah, you can either "T" into the factory port or, of you don't plan on running twins, use the other port on the filter housing.

thanks guys, ended up teeing it, the electric pickup pump runs off the oil pressure sort of a slick setup the hummer has, it now runs but still dies ten seconds after running, and starts very hard like it still isnt getting fuel, but it is! it is getting a steady volt to the fuel shutoff, doesnt change voltage! any ideas?

I would not t it if i were you. better to tap into the second one then telling the turbo that it can only have half of its lube supply. IMO

I think he means he T'd out of the sender hole, Alex.

What pressure does the electric pump on that Hummer put out? Is there a chance that it's sucking the filter dry before oil pressure comes up and kicks the pump on? Even a little air is bad, so the vane pump on the VE may be pulling a vacuum in the lines after the LP. A tiny air leak there would probably not show itself once the LP gets power and kicks on, filling them with fuel again.

Huh? It won't affect the turbo oil supply unless the sender blows. Has no where to go. Dead ends at the sender.

I would run that pressure switch through the shut down solenoid circuit, with a manually operated spring loaded over-ride switch. That way, it will kill the engine, and not starve the fuel injection pump when the lift pump shuts off. Just start the engine normally. All you'll need to do, is hold the switch at start up, then let go when it starts. Lose oil pressure, engine dies (unless you hit the over-ride). The over-ride will also allow you to get to a safe spot on the shoulder (or off the street).
