Your MPG

Postby dazedandconfused » Wed Jan 11, 2012 4:08 pm

Searched but didn't see a thread on this. I'm interested to see what everyone is getting mileage wise.

Truck setup
Stock engine, 518 auto, 3.55 gears and 265/70/16 I've been averaging 23mpg usually running 75mph to and from work. That's 60 miles of interstate and 6 miles back roads a day.

Currently nothing.... Cause I haven't been driving it. The Accord gets 31 mixed. 8)

Best was 23.x going to and from SOP. 4x4 Reg cab, 5spd, 33x12.5x16.5 tires. Winter fuel is around 17-18 with 15 mins of idling every morning.

I found a fuel economy thread that KTA started years ago (2007).

Anyways in the truck in my sig I got 20.8 once, I can regularly get 18. I do use a splash of Power Service in most tanks if that amounts to anything. It weighs 5300 with me and a stocked tool box in it.

Andy, what does your rig weigh? Can't be much...
Also i got my truck back together, thanks 8)

Hey good to hear and no problem Caleb. I have no idea what mine weighs. I'm gonna guess around 5,000 with my big ass in it.

Hmmm, I would have guessed under 5k. Maybe that 8 lug chassis is heavier than I thought

I'm not a very good test subject since I just got the truck a few months ago. I promptly did some pump tuning, rotated fuel pin, star wheel down 1.5 turns, full throttle screw backed out with the linkage relocated, full power screw turned in to the collar, and a fair amount of irresponsible driving.

Driving on mostly country roads with only a few miles between stop signs and very little highway driving I only got 13 mpg.

I am a little disappointed. I do have an injector knocking a bit which I'm sure isn't helping, nor did my driving style but I don't think my random hole shots took away the extra 5mpg that I feel I'm missing. It never smokes, NEVER, so I know I'm not wasting fuel there. I'll try to be more responsible on this tank to see what it does and report back.

I recently made a trip to the beach, drove around a little there, and came most of the way home on a tank. I can't remember how many miles. It was well over 350 IIRC. With driving it responsibly (75ish% highway @ 60 ~ 70mph, the balance around 35mph), It seems I got around 18mpg.

- BrHAF, two spinny-things, BHIC, stock/OEM 12mm IP with a stiffer spring, big squirters, BHEP, different bump-stick & springs, one soup-pot, sheet aluminum, rivets 'n stuff. Hands have been layed on the head. An expensive TC and home-built trans. Most is set-up to function as the MFR intended. Some, maybe not so much.

Mine gets an average of 19 if ran at 70,only speed I know it seems  . Best I've ever got was running 55 on some back roads with almost no stops, that gave me 21.
In work mode she get 12 to 14,depending on weight and stop and go.

I average about 18 or so, depending on where I go, most of it is two lane highways, I have hit 19.96 on a long interstate trip, keeping the spped about 65mph and the boost under 4psi. Truck scales out about 6900lbs how it sits right now...

The best is 18.5 with 33x12.5x16.5, and worst is in the 12-14 range with a 4,500lb truck camper in it.
