I was concerned about the same thing, that's why I ran about 12" of the "fuel" line to a isolator, with 1/4" hose, then from there I sleeved the small line with split loom into the cab and up to the gauge. The isolator kit I got said to use coolant on the gauge side of the isolator, it works pretty good, and if there ever happens to be a leak, it will be very small as there is less than 1oz of coolant in that small line
