New intake

Postby skilletky » Wed Mar 28, 2012 9:58 pm

Was surfing threw eBay last week and saw intakes offered by blue collar diesel. I got one of their stg 3 shorty intakes to try out to see if it's worth the money. It showed up today , gotta put it on tomorrow and test it out. I'll let y'all know what happens. Anyone on here run one currently?

I also got a 4200 rpm spring in today. Gonna throw it in Tom too. I'm hoping the weather will be good Friday, I plan on leaving work early Friday night and going to the drag strip with it.

Here is a pic of it compared to my old intake

Here it is on the truck

So far so good. Spools up a little sooner. Egt's are down a tad. I like it. The only bad thing I have found is I don't know if the pipe is thick enough to drill and tap for the restriction guage.

Here is the 366 spring compared to the 354 spring. The 366 is on top

Why would you drill and tap when you could just get a rubber grommet and use a pop in one...thats how most of them are anyways

Is there any reason that it goes from a bigger pipe to a smaller one? On mine I used two 45* silicone boots and one length of 4" pipe

The filter does not have a hole for a pop it guage. It uses a 5 inch id filter. It would be nice if it were a full 5 inches all the way to the turbo.

What brand of filter is that? It's red, so I'm suspicious of it being a K & N, and we know all about those puppies! ;) What did you pay for that setup? I just got an AFE for a 2nd gen I'm going to adapt to the green truck. It was only $180, and in primo shape too! 8)

Looks good but $255 is a little high. Plus it utilizes a k&n filter. Shoulda been a afe filter with a single bent straight pipe from turbo to filter. Looks good tho
