Pics? How bads the cracks,or did it lay off a section? If its just cracks id drill the ends and find somebody with a tig set up to weld it. MIG welders like to leave pin holes in the aluminum if the person welding it isn't careful.

i welded it yesterday . put cover on to keep case in shape.
made few passes , sealed it all back up :wrench: and drove to work this morning 8) got whole new respect for just how stout that 12 valve is.
pushing close to 500,000 mi at well above rated hp. and still more reliable than coworkers 6.0

Glad you got it fixed...just to answer an earlier question, no a case from a 24V won't work. You can find those for almost a dime a dozen because alot of people are Ppuming their 24V trucks.

You would have to find an IP specific case...VE, P7100, VP, whatever pump you have, that is the case you need.

I saw this too late, but I'll still make my comments.

With that much damage to the dowel pin, ALWAYS at the very least thoroughly inspect the pump gear's hub and keyway for cracking.
I had an engine, a 1990, that had the ball bearings in the vacuum pump eccentric go through the gear train and the pump gear was cracked all to hell, radiating from the hub out.

I have also had several pump gears that were cracked on the keyway, for whatever reason.

Mark.

Sorry to hear what happened, I just fixed my dowel pin yesterday and tightened the timing case bolts also while at it
along with some blue loctite on the threads. I hope she holds up for you.

i cleaned and inspected all the gears . the cam gear is what acually grabbed ahold of the pin . the gears all looked good , cleaned all surfaces . been driving the truck , as usual and the only thing i notice is that my lower rad hose is leaking alittle from when i put the radiator back in.
