My truck smoked like crazy all the time when it had that problem. At its worst point the mpg dropped to less than 7 mpg too. Yours don't sound like as bad of a problem.

If you're sure theres nothing wrong with the oil or coolant and you're sure the head gasket or valve cover gaskets aren't leaking on the manifold, bring the injectors to a diesel shop. It would'nt hurt to get the injectors "popped". One might be randomly sticking.

My truck just white smoke a bit when cold. It don't leak any at valve covers or the head gasket, it actually don't leak anywhere at all!! It also run like a champ, I actually turned it sideways in the road today when I goosed it, and if I just goose it driving around it breaks 285s over really easy!! So I may have em popped, but I'm really not worried about it. I only see it when it first starts when I look under hood. When you rev it , that's when you see it. Bit when warm I don't see it but it probably evaporated. What will oil look like if it has fuel in it?

Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to post them. But its the exhasut manifold where the gasket is. Its coming from the gasket on the exhaust. When you rev it up cold, you can see a little liquid coming from it. It bubbles out dirty yellow when you rev it.

I noticed mine had some oil or something coming out the manifold a little bit as well, head and injectors were done a year ago. but then again it might not have done it before it tryed to roll over like a dog..

Fuel in the oil will make the oil feel thin and make it smell like diesel, it might not make it look any different.

If everything checks out and the truck runs good, maybe when the manifold cools it gets condensation and leaky gaskets let it leak out when you start the engine :? Thats all I can think of.
