That's cool! I saw a chevy 350 with a broken crank once, it ran too, made a nasty knocking noise though. 8) After that when my boss ran to Pennsylvania for fish food, a 4-500 mile run, he made sure to ask if the truck would make it there and back, instead of just asking if it would make it there like he did the day the crank broke.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I've seen plenty 6.5s do that but never a stockfish Cummins.

Mount the block side ways. Attach were the motor mount plate bolts.

Complete engine with head, fuel pump, turbo, etc., is 1100 lbs. So I'd guess without the head, turbo, etc, still in the 850 range.

That's the way the OTC shop stands are, mounts them on the side of the block. We have 3 or 4 different engine adapters and they all mount on the side.

Never saw a Cummins crank broken like that and I have pulled a BUNCH apart.
I've pulled ones apart that were so oil starved that the main caps and crank were black and blue scorched, a couple that had CHUNKS missing from the block main saddles, but to this very day I have NEVER pulled a Cummins crank that was broken anywhere similar to that, abused or not.

What was your oil pressure like with it broken that way? :?
It should have been noticeably low or erratic.

Mark.

yeah I've never seen anything like it myself this is my first time this far in an engine
no pressure was low and sporadic not even really alarming low just slightly low but I've had sending units go out on these before they are pretty fickle so I didn't think much of it . and i didn't have a whole lot of time to react to the low oil more the sound I'm having magnaflux Monday and lineboard hopefully soon after . up here in North Missouri there not a whole lot of machine shops
send this is my first time pulling an engine and working on it any suggestions would be much appreciated.
