Good job Matt! With the 370's you may not be able to tune out the low end smoke. I have to ease into the throttle until it's wound up to get no smoke at all on take off. Short shifting or stepping on it quick usually pisses off the people behind me.

I've been able to tune out the smoke with my 5x14.5 77lpm SAC injectors. It's doable, just takes tuning.

A factory fuel pin is the first to make it nearly impossible. Keep in mind that it when it's turned to the steepest side, the slide pin is about a 1/4" out of the hole at 0 boost.

Hopefully going to get some time tonight to do some tuning. Don't want to do too much all at once. Eric gave me some things to try. I am anxious to see how she will pull, dragging the camper about 2 hours away to the nascar race at the Watkins Glenn tomorrow. I may just have to change my driving style but I sure do love the way the truck is running.

Eric, Is there a better fuel pin out there that would help?

I personally like the BD power pin. It's also about $25 cheaper than any other pin.

But, another thing to try...........seeing is you have more wot power now, you could try and turn your pin to the shallowest side and see if it helps get you to where you'd like to be.

So the truck ran great. Pretty good mileage. My egt's were down compared to the stock setup before, (1200 vrs 1100) that has me baffled, I would guess that I have less timing than I did before.

The only issue I had is that on one of the hills on the way home I got a "chugging" problem under wot up the hill. I had the problem once before and I think it is electrical. A problem with the connection to the fuel shut off.

Getting back to the egt issue, the boost seemed to be down some too. It felt like the truck would hit a wall at about 2200 in 4th. If I shifted into 5th, she would pull again fine. Before it seemed that she would pull all the way to 2500. I am wondering if I am either running out of turbo or she needs more fuel.

If you are able to upshift and speed up........it's not a fueling issue, or turbo issue.

It pretty much has to be an indexing, or throttle travel issue.

My guess is on the throttle travel. Have somebody push the skinny pedal to the floor and check and make sure the throttle lever is going to the stop.

Figured I would post an update, been out on vacation and out of the country on business for the last 3 weeks. The truck had a fuel leak before I left, ordered the seal kit and in the process of sealing up the ip pump. The leak was out of the afc vent. Going to install the 3200 spring too.

Somehow I lost the return spring for the throttle, some things I tell ya. Never ending.

While doing this work going to look into the electrical gremlin on the shut off solinoid too. Need the truck next weekend for a camping trip down to pa.

That's just the pin the centering spring sits on. Just weld or braze it back up. Is the centering spring bad? You should replace that if it's got a notch in it, welding won't cut it. Check the flat bar that sits next to the pin, it may be worn also. I welded up my bar and pin, then sanded them to smooth them out and not wear the new spring out right away.

I'm too lazy for welding it up, as mine was just as bad, along with the spring. I just dug up the Bosch part numbers and went to the pump shop I deal with and ordered new ones

At $60 for a lever I wasn't going that route. ;)

I can't weld thin stuff to save my life, so knowing my luck I would have just burned it off and have to buy the lever anyways
