Just a side comment but on my truck I installed a piece of clear plastic tubing for the last foot or so of fuel line before the fuel filter. That way I can tell at a glance if the fuel is getting to filter, or if there's air or water. I just used some ordinary 'Clear vinyl tubing' from the hardware store, with a little piece of steel tubing to patch it in with clamps. It has worked fine for the last 5-6 years so far.

I had a little Lombardini diesel engine that didn't have a tank. Well I put a little tank on it and didn't have fuel line. Used some vinyl tubing on it and that lasted for years. Actually when I got rid of the engine it still had that line and it was as soft as when it was new. I couldn't believe it would work that long!

Just for the record -- I'm pretty sure that plastic lines didn't start until '92. My 91.5 trucks have the newer style tank, sending unit/pickup, etc., but the same metal lines in the frame as the non-IC trucks. My experience is that the metal goes long before the rubber.

That's my experience as well, my frame, and everything in it, was much more rusty than another part of it in behind the fuel tank. The rubber lines, though crappy looking, we're intact and it was actually the steel bends that had rusted and had the leak.

Is your truck starting hard or anything?

No hard starting just a little scent of diesel from the truck that wasn't there before.

So replacing the lines, what would be a good upgrade? Just 3/8" when does the 3/8 become a restriction?

Also the 93 Frame I have has the hard plastic lines in it as well.
