There are alot of companies that make BIG universal race rads that I'm sure you could plumb to our trucks.

I'm hoping that the intercooler will actually help on coolant temp. If the EGT's go down, there should be less heat transferring into the coolant.........Right?......................

Well I'm not convinced yet either.............But my next project might be putting a 2nt gen Radiator in (Since I allread have the 2nt gen cooler) or maybe just a intercooler radiator, housing and hoses.

Well if your a good fabber, it would only require the removal of the battery(to wide)
I haven't put a whole lot of thought into this yet............I thing that if you were to get hold of a V10 radiator and put the Diesel tanks on it..........it might clear the battery try??????
Also thought about having the diesel tank shortened (Don't know if any radiator shop would do this)

If your willing to relocate the battery and tray.....have some fab skilles, it should work just find.
Get the fan, fan clutch, and shroud.......YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A COOLANT TEMP PROBLEMS again ;)

burnt_servo!

I just notist that yours is a intercooled radiator truck!!!!!!!!

Have you done the updated fan and clutch off of a 2nt gen???????
Its supposed to be a good improvement over you stock one...............Us non intercooler can't do this trick, because our fan shroud is to small and the blade will not fit!
If you interested, i can dig up the part ##

i'm kind of starting from scratch here , since the rad and rad suport is all smashed into the front of the motor , and everything between the intercooler and front of the motor needs to be replaced ( i think the ac coils might still be good ) .

moving the battery tray around isn't an issue , when i first got the truck i was seriously considering clipping the windshield posts , and across the floor just a hair in front of the rear door posts , then welding in the same section out of a club cab , then finding a short box to replace the long box .

i have to replace alot of stuff , and while i could replace it all with stock stuff , then possibly end up changing it out latter , or just maybe find what you guys have changed out , and seriously consider that from the begining .

also i don't know how this might affect things , but i would like to use a '77 powerwagon grill and hood .

i've been wanting to dig in and take some more pics , but it snowed another 8 inches last night and burried everything ... again !!!**&&*%^%

In theary,...yes. But you would be much better off just going to electric and elliminating alll the fan drag on the motor with your hot rod diesel ;) :thumright:

Ya forgot about it being crashed

Here is the numbers just in case you are interested!

[b]Upgraded OEM Fan and Fan Clutch
Dodge has issued an updated Fan which has more twist on the blades and is lighter. If you plan on upgrading your fan clutch, I strongly suggest you also upgrade to this new fan. Again, this is an OEM component from MOPAR.

Fan- 52028653
Clutch module- 52028760

It's lighter and stronger (the fan)

As of 3 mouth ago, when i bought mine(which i can't use :x )they were still available.

cool... thank you flash :)

the hood and grill will fit , i'm just wondering if the '77 grill has less room behind it ....

i haven't taken a tape to my '91 1/2 ton or my '77 1/2 ton yet , but it seems there is more room between the grill and rad support of my '91 , than my '77 .
i have a real soft spot for the way the '77 trucks looked .

Just Curious

Postby Ace » Mon Mar 03, 2008 2:21 pm

Why can't you use them, Flash? Are those 2nd gen part#s?
Maybe that fan/clutch would do better without a shroud than the old one with a shroud.
