I think that block strength has more to due with where it was cast than the year.

There are numbers on them somewhere that you can trace back. I think.

the later 12v's had the '53' block but they haven't been a problem, I don't believe the 12v '53' was made until late 97 or 98. the '53' block cracking is a very common issue with the 98-02 24v.

you should be fine with your '95 and '93 blocks, as far as I know the 95 is stronger than the 93, if that's what you're asking. good choice for the engines, the VE engine mildly modded will make an awesome driver and gets the best mileage in my experience; and the P-pump is just dirty easy to turn up and is super reliable at high power levels...some people say it's cheating.

my plan was to swap all the ve sthi over to the p pump block because it was rebuilt a few years ago that way i dont have to fkcu with it the 93 engines odometer soped working at 390k and it was a ranch truck that from the looks of it towed goose neck horse trailers all its life but the engine ran better than my friends 04. what ever i end up doin for now on what ever motor goes in my dd i anm gunna do some mild head porting oring the head 12m studs 60 lb springs and the hx35 turn up the pump and call it good for a little while oh yeah and its proly getting a 47rh.

I'd leave the 93 block alone, and keep the VE stuff with it. If it pulled all its life, it's probably in better shape than most here, and has a good 400k left in it. I had a 90 with 440K (so the P.O. said, anyway) that idled and revved as smooth as the Lexus commercials from the early 90s. Never saw the inside, but it had less blowby than my 92, and sounded better.

Put the recently rebuilt engine in your toy.

that is what i was going to suggest

my '92 had only half your miles but i am tellin ya, the bore is like new and the valve job, this is the incredible part, it had a little carbon or what ever on it but after bead blasting i could not believe my eyes - practially no wear at all. the valves were a diff story - ex were as nice as the seats but the intake valves had some wear (on the valve face)

that motor had towed all of its life too
