It's got a 4" inlet and a wastegated turbine housing. Assuming it was one with the v-band exhaust clamp (I believe some later years came with the cast elbow?), you would need to shorthen the downpipe about an inch to accomodate the wider wastegated housing, get a 4" inlet tube from the airbox, and maybe tap in somewhere for boost pressure to operate the wastegate. Fairly trivial, but not exactly "bolt-on."

Yep bolts right on, my intake hose went right on - no mods. I put on a 4" downpipe at the same time so I dont have any recommendations on moving the exhaust back but you will have to. Also, you might as well grab the metal gasket that goes between the manifold and the turbo while you have it apart...

Guy's he is showing a 89 model truck in his sig. That is a nonIC'd engine. The HX35 uses a flange fitting for the outlet pipe hookup. His engine uses a cross over tube that uses a hump hose connection. His turbo also uses a 3" inlet hose.

Some mods will be in order to hook the HX35 up to his stock intake tube setup.

1tondodge- welcome to 1stGen.

The nonIC trucks had a smaller inlet than the latter, IC'd trucks, so it isnt a direct fit, but can work with some fab work.

I'd recommend an intake elbow from a junkyard 5.9- maybe a Freightliner or Ford- and a turbo outlet elbow from the same type truck. Put some pipe and silicone hose between the two, and you're set to go. Bgilbert has the part numbers for the right-left facing elbows.

I am running the bhaf so it would not be difficult to run the 4" intake but I do have a little bit of a challenge ahead of me is what yall are saying.

Go to member endeavors and check out my custom crossover I built to adapt the hx35 before I intercooled my truck. (Good way to push a scary 47lbs boost and make the turbo scream!)
