RUNNING BAD

Postby cummins king » Mon Aug 04, 2008 8:26 pm

The last couple of day the truck has been running weird.
As soon as i get on the pettle, and try and biuld a bit of boost the etgs go way out of control, and the turbos lag badly. I can only hit 25 maby 30 psi witch is half of what i was doing before and the etgs are at 1600+ ,and i didnt make any changes. Its blowing alot of back smoke, more then before, and maby abit of white smoke just before the black smoke.

Before i could hit 50 pounds, and not even break 1250d.
now it 25 - 30 pounds and 1600+.

Any thoughts?

I'm not any where near as into these trucks as you are, so if you've already checked what I can come up with, thats why.
Could one or more of your injectors have gone bad?, somehow have a clogged nozzle or something?
I'm sure you've checked but there's the possibility of boost leak.
Blown out intercooler?

If that's not it try some of those new platinum plus 4 spark plugs, I hear they make a lot of power.

Injectors were fine, but it doent mean they still are, i think the very ittle bit of white smoke is just my leaking top turbo, that i havnt got arount to fix.

I think its a boot to, i stil havent finnished the twins yet and theres just a patch job booting system in there now so it wouldnt suprize me if that was the answer,
Buts its amasing how a little boot issue can make such a difence

Either that or the I/C popped. Just whip up a tester and throw the pressure to it. You should be able to hear it leaking if you lost that much.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Did you ever put a good fuel filter in the system?
