If it's sucking air, it will smoke like that. Not getting enough fuel to burn good. I think DPuckett had the same problem.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I am in the middle of a rebuild due to "white smoke". White smoke is unburned fuel. Either the timing is way off, as noted previously, an injector has crapped out and is not atomizing the fuel, or you have a compression problem. I had an injector crap out, which in turn ruined my #6 piston and now I have a compression problem. What was your original problem causing you to change the injection pump?

I'd start by checking the timing, or just advancing it about 3/16" for diagnostic purposes. I R&Red a pump one time and somehow, the pump gear jumped a notch backward, retarding my timing. Popped the gear off the pump, moved the pump back an inch, realigned the gear, and all was well.

I had the same symptoms you have- rough idle, white smoke to make a skeeter fogger jealous, no power, etc.

If the timing checks out, time to spray every line with ether (to evaporate any gunk or fuel), and let it run. Check for seepages. You could well have a pinhole like Cummins Pride mentioned.

Good luck, keep us posted on what works and what doesnt. Isnt online diagnostics fun?

Ok,bumped my timing today.about 1/8th.Took it for a drive felt realy good.Got home went to shut the truck off,and it got realy quite but didnt shut off.Popped the hood and seen fuel leaking from the banjo housing to the left of the fuel filter.both washers are shot on the large banjo bolt and the little screw that goes in side the larger one, all the threads are gone. And when I pushed the throttle it looked like a white cloud machine. So I ended up having to stick a board over the turbo. So would the fuel leaking cause it not to shut off?

It shouldn't. Sounds like your fuel shutoff solenoid on the back of your pump is not working properly. Make sure both wires are still hooked up. Did you get any king of warranty on the work or the pump when you had it installed? The washers you are talking about should have been replaced with new if the banjo bolt was removed, and if they stripped out the threads they should be responsible for that as well.

Wow... you need to step back and give that fuel system a real good once over... There are several rubber grommets in that fuel system as well as several banjo washers. The little thangs can getcha just like you discovered there with that banjo. And don't let the dude that installed the TPS backwords do anymore.

Ok i got the fitting replaced.that stopped the leak. But know smoke is constantly coming out at idle blueish white smoke.so is that an air leak for sure?
