16cm or 18cm?

Postby peobryant » Sat Oct 25, 2008 3:45 pm

I need to get rid of my 21cm housing, but am stuck on whether or not to buy a 16cm exhaust housing, or an 18cm.

The mods I plan for the truck are, 366 Spring, Maxed pump, DennyT stage II fuel pin, and injectors. (Either POD's or 6X12's)

What housing would run best with that setup?

Thanks for any help

If you plan on maxing the pump with the above injectors(I would go with the 6X12's rather than the POD injectors) the exhaust housing really will not matter that much on a stock turbo as you will not be able to keep it cool. With my setup and a HX35 with a 16cm2 housing my truck would hit 1600 degrees 1/2 way through 5th. gear when running it through the quarter.

I have an automatic though, you have a 5spd. The manual tranny trucks seem to like smaller exhaust housings more than the autos. I'll probably go with the 16cm.

Thanks for all the help
