If nobody on hear ends up knowing, try looking in the 3rd gen section on other sites like DTR or cummins forum.

I think there is a thread on the DTR about someone using the turbo off of a 6.7 truck. From what I read he seemed to like it.

I don't think you have to be a member of Diesel Truck Resource to read old posts, and the membership is free anyway. I think you are thinking about the Turbo Diesel Register. I will check and see if I can find a thread about this topic.

Diesel truck resource is run by the hall monitor from your middle school. It won't let you type certain words in like, pissed or, stealership. I can see not allowing foul language but they're ridiculous. :hs: :dayum: :finger: :safe:

They don't allow the word "stealership"? Holy crap that's bad...

I saw an operational Dodge VGT on eBay with a $250 "But it Now" price.

I mean, $250!?! We can't even get a freaking compressor for that. The list price for a turbo is probably 10 times that...

I was over there went through about 14 threads didn't really find any info on using one on a 5.9. And as for the price they go for less than 250 all the time.

I believe the DTR thread being referred to is about a guy using an HE351 (04.5-07) from a 5.9 common rail truck. Not the same as a 6.7 VGT.

I have an he351cw from a 04.5-07 5.9 on my 1st gen. Better than any compressor upgrade in my opinion.

The 6.7 turbo would be the one to use. I know there are a few people trying to make it work properly. Some people have been using a wastegate actuator to operate the vanes. Some people have also tried using drive pressure.

It really would be an awesome turbo if somebody got it to work properly. Then the prices will skyrocket.

 You may be right. I saw it a long time ago, and remembered the guy used a turbo from a new truck. It more than likely was from a 5.9.

Sorry.
