But I just like sticks better and its easier putting a 4500 in a stick truck

well I think I will get the 370s after I get my EGT, boost and 4" exhaust in. Then a denny t fuel pin and Im still not sure on which turbo to look for, the hx35, hx40 or s300. I want a fun to drive truck but something that isnt crazy and still gets decent mileage. I am getting 22 - 26 mpg right now, well I was until I found I could shoot a black cloud at bicyclists that opt to ride in the middle of my lane.

BTW, guy in Shelton WA. has/ had a 1992 ex cab dually 5sp was asking $1500 for it, needs a tranny....... found it on craigslist a week or two ago. I cant remember if it was two or four wheel drive tho.

Is there a recipe for doing "x" gives you ____ hp and ____ torque? I know that nothing is concrete but something that will get me close.

370's are a good choice in injector. PToombs almost has 400rwhp out of his set. I'm in the same turbo boat as you, and have narrowed it down to 3 (I think), but I'm thinking a 62/71/14 is what I'm going with.

If that '92 Dually has a rust free body, and strong running engine, I would jump on that thing. $1500 is a real good deal, especially for a rust free truck.

lectro_static, welcome to the site! For towing, 370's, an HX40 from PDR or HTT, full 4" exhaust (talk to Source Auto in Milwaukie for a 1st gen HX40 downpipe), and minor to no pump adjustments will get you close to 300hp and be very towable (i.e. doesn't go to 1500* every time you think of going up a hill loaded). There are a couple of members on here that have that combo and do well towing. You could PM member KTA, he has this build on his towing truck and it works well for him grossing 20k+.

Your local Bosch pump shop should have the 366 spring. If not, they are all over the internet.

The HX40 downpipe is 4" instead of the stock 3". The stock turbo will still have a 3" outlet, so I'm not sure if you even really need the 4" downpipe. If you swap to a bigger turbo, most aftermarket outlets are 4", so you will need it then.

Source Automotive has them. Rip and his crew are good guys to deal with, they'll treat you right. I've bought parts from Cummins NW on Swan Island and had good luck with them. I needed parts for my injection pump and they sent me to a shop on Vancouver Way, east of I-5. I can't remember the name of the shop, but I went in and told them what I needed and they got the parts for me pretty quick.

Since you've got all the pipe, the only other thing you need is a v-band flange. You'll need a 3" one for the stock turbo and a 4", HX-40 style for an aftermarket turbo.

Yep, Hillsburrito. I'd be happy to help you do the spring, but it won't be at my place since I live in an apartment complex. They get so testy about working on vehicles in the parking lot.

Source said they have them on the shelf and couldnt remember an exact price but they want less then $30. I will try to pick one up next week and depending on how things go maybe install it next weekend.

4" exhaust will be better, atleast thats what a couple places here have told me, 3" out of the turbo and right after the band clamp ramp it up to 4". Then when I get a new turbo its just the first couple inches Ill have to change.

We have a shop in Hillsboro, the DG Industrial park, on Witchhazel, you anywhere near there? If so we are out there Sundays building sandrails and bajas we could change the spring there if you want to help out.

I have heard that it will help lower EGT's and make more power. I honestly dont know if it will or not, I have the stuff may as well use it and when I get the new turbo all I will have to do is cut the 2" off and add the new flange.

Where is the best place to get the boost reading from, right at the elbow out of the turbo or after the i/c? I have my truck torn apart now and want to get it installed.

I put mine in the intake on the motor. I got one of the boost tap bolts that replace one of the intake plate bolts.
