That is a standard Hx40, not a Super Hx40. It is a good turbo and will still work for your application but will have a touch more lag and run a little hotter do to its lower pressure ratio.

New era quoted me a price $1734.00 for a s300 62/71/14. Does that sound like a good price or does somone know of a better price. Also new ear was the best at answering questions that I have found so far

Try this:

http://www.pdrdiesel.com/products/Custom_Built_62mm_x_12_or_14_S300_Switzer_Turbo-915-26.html

a little cheaper and I would suggest the 14cm exhaust housing for your automatic. Good luck!

dont quote me on this but i was told by Adam cornell from central michigan performance diesel that he could get me one for about 1000. this was about 1-1 1/2 months ago so like i said DO NOT quote me on this. his number is 989 621 9806 if you wanna give him a call. if you call during the day he may not answer cause he does have a regular job and does diesel performance on the side.

if ya check the swap meet over on comp d there is a guy selling a s300 that would fit your needs perfectly

its a stocker

57/65-14

would be a great top turbo for a first gen

(and not as pricey as its bigger brothers)

waste gate arm bent and truck would not spool until bout 2500 (with it bent)

turbo had 500 miles on it

stuck in middle of desert

ve pump and 71 turbine hope you got a lot of fuel and dont plan on towing much

hope you have a manual tranny

even with a p-pump they say stay away from 71 wheel if ya tow a lot

71 wheel is laggy but once it lites goes to max boost instantly

You did say you were thinking about a twin setup right? I know a lot of second gen guys have had good things to say about an S300G (57/65/14) and an S400.

BGilbert runs an S300/S400 setup (although I think he has a 62/71/14 S300) and made over 500rwhp.

The S300G is also supposed to flow more air than an HX40.

Well if i cant support the 62/71/14 and keep the egts managable I would rather go with somthing else and if it is possible I would like to go with so in a year or two if I want to go with twins then I can.

for what is in your sig i dont think you can beat a hx-35

not just the price either - the map of a 35 is about a perfect match for what you got

or if you want more (less heat) bd super b

the hx is 54/58

super b is 57/65

super b would work great as top turbo later but its 5 times as expensive

if it were me i would throw a 2 or 3 hundred dollar used hx-35 on it and see how i liked it

if you want more you can always sell it but i bet you love it
