Converting AR to CM for turbine housings

Postby fergavs » Sun Apr 26, 2009 10:00 am

I know its not exact but there was a post about approximate conversions for AR to cm when comparing turbine housings. Anybody have reference to it for me or can at least tell me the conversion? The turbo is for my twins and has a 1.08 AR. Thanks.

Mine is .80ar and the tech at borge warner told me it equals 14.77 cm. I hated algebra but maybe some one else could figure it out. :(

*if that is true then this math should work....

14.77 divided by 80 = 0.184625.......0.184625 x 108 = 19.9395.....

or right around a 20 CM2 housing.....

*i failed math 3 years in high school so take all that with a grain of salt......

The 108 he used should have been the 1.08 ar that was asked about in the first post. It threw me off too.

We need to know more than just the A/R ratio- we need a second number to plug in- like turbine size, overall diameter of the housing, or something like that.
