4 door cab and frame swap?

Postby hassy21 » Sun Jul 05, 2009 11:00 pm

I am trying to find a donor truck to make my truck a four door. I just need to know some info. on how you guys did it. Some pics of guys that already did the conversion would be pretty cool too. Thanks

most people swap the drivetrain into the 4 door truck. some stretch the frame instead. if you want to keep your truck a long bed, you'll need to do a frame stretch, or buy a 2wd long bed crew and do a 4x4 conversion. as for myself, if i ever find a cab and bed, plan to swap my ext cab and long bed for a 4 door cab and short bed, as the wheelbases between the two are the same. good luck.

there is a guy in cali with two of them. he wants 1800 a piece and both are 4x4 short beds. Look at Gov. auctions around you. Most crew cabs were Gov vehicles with few a civilian being made.
