I can help!! :D

Hushpower Monster truck runs a 727. Not sure how much power it gets to the ground, but I know the trans can handle the 900 hp that the engine made on an engine dyno. Cole ran 98 mph in the 1/8th mile with his 518 (non lockup) and a Spec Rite converter.....calculators put him at about 700 hp at the wheels based on his trap speed. Finally Tom Collins put down 587 with his 1st gen through a 727 with nitrous and w/m.

If you plan on being over 500rwhp with traction I would upgrade to a steel planetary and billet input.

Hope this helps.

PS--I plan on bettering my 448 number, but it won't be for another few weeks at least. I'll let you know after that how much mine can hold 8)

Here's a graph of my 448 hp dyno run, along with the calculated speed vs actual speed (which gives you converter slip rate). As you can see, the higher the engine revs, the more efficient the converter becomes, so rpm is your friend in this case. Unfortunatley with a 14mm head, it isn't, so it's kind of a catch 22 if you ever plan on running one of those.

The pricey one. I think it is flashing a little because the boost and nitrous hit at the same time. I talked to Goerend and he said my slip rate is about what he'd expect for making power at 2600-2800 rpm.

How is your nitrous set up? On a switch manual, hobs or controller? At what RPM or boost lvl are you having it kick in?

HP vs mph graphs are weak!! RPM's are what matters!

Nitrous is set on a hobbes switch at 15 psi. At the track I just hit it in the middle of 2nd gear. Should be a different story with some slicks.

Sorry for the MPH graph KTA, I'll go out and buy some software so I can change it to RPM :D

I run mine on a hobbs also at 15psi. in 2wd it will just blow off the tires, in 4wd it flat out hauls!!!

What size pill are you guys starting with? I wanted to start small and work my way up but maybe your home work would help a guy out.

I have a 034 I am going to try first..

I started out with a .078 jet. As long as you trigger it above 15 psi you should be safe. Also make sure your bottle pressure is 950-1000 psi. As long as you don't run a bunch of timing, or hit the nitrous while the truck is defueling, or under no boost, starting out with a big jet won't hurt anything.

I always read good things about giggle gas as long as you have everything set up right... Would you guys recommend spray? I am trying to get my winter wish list going for a winter project and I was thinking s366, 6x16's, converter, o-ringed head, cam, 60# springs, and giggle gas?
