What's really scary is some of the pics of the kdp fix floating around on the net, those coat hanger tabs would worry me. Just bugger up the end of the hole!

On further reflection, mods please forgive me for using the words bugger and hole on a thread that petes in.

Now THAT'S amusing!

Another thing to worry your heads about:
When severely neglected (and noises missed/ignored) the early vacuum pumps will come apart and spit the ball bearings into the case, doing all sorts of damage, including breaking the cam.
It's a LOVELY sight to see.
BTW, when I pulled the pan and cover off that one, there were actually 4 ball bearings already in the pan, 4 in various places in the timing case and another 3 in the pump, still.

Mark.

I was going to bugger the end of the hole, but I had to drive it all the way in 1st, so I figured I'd better just cover it to be safe. :

And yes, I was talking about the KDP. ;)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I don't see what you guys are so worried about. Just don't drive you're truck's and nothing will fall into the works, and break everything
