What do you guys think of putting Super Bee hood scoops on my hood? They will be flat black.

I dont think it would look terrible, some mopar styling.. but everytime i see a pickup with hood scoops I think they are trying too hard.... I like plain and simple.

The original owner of my 89 put a backwards facing non functional scoop on one side of the hood. I like it. One of these days I will take my spare hood and make it a functional scoop. My scoop is what you would see on a old F600 Ford. One of our older Ford fire trucks here in town has the same scoop. ( Its a cherry , low mile late 60's ford. )

I have a questions in regards to the turbo set-up.

If you watch the video at the ending I run it up to about 58PSI of boost. From about 52-58# of boost I really dont feel any more power. Its just kinda flat. I really have to get a drive pressure gauge on this thing. My feeling are that anything over 52PSI my drive pressure must be way off preventing the engine to breath.

Example: remember when you could run your old outboard engine WOT and if you did not have the jetting just right you could back off the throttle just a little and the boat would pick up a couple mph.

Looks like I may be installing my waste gate soon.

Nice job on the twins, looks like they are doing there job. :thumleft: Any plans to dyno it soon?

I vote no on the hoodscoops. I'm not a fan unless they are functional.

Where did you get the dash pods for your gauges and what application are they for?

The gauge pod I am using for m boost and pyro is just a cheepo out of summit. The other is a 3 gauge pod that was made for a 1st gen. I will have my cold pipe PSI drive pressure and trans temp in that one. I also have another 2 gauge pod made for 1st gen that mounts on the far left with 2 gauges that will be water temp and engine oil pressure.

When I get the hood scoops I am going to set them on there and snap a photo to see what it looks like. No holes till I get input from others again. I will be putting a 3" hole on each side of the hood if I use the scoops to vent or force cool air into the engine bay.

Quite an improvement, what was your 60ft time? Not trying to start anything but it seems like you should be a bit faster for all the stuff you have done.

Agree with you and I know there is allot more on the fuel side I can do. I have two changes to make real soon. 1) Fuel inlet modifications 2) External waste gate . Remember this is a W350..

Image

The fuel inlet changes I want to make will let me turn the pump up further without draining the pump dry. My drive pressure is higher then I want so adding the waste gate is also on the list. Have to get the larger turbo working a little harder.

Here are the details.

60' 1.879
330 5.614
1/8 8.872
mph 1/8 74.81
1/4 14.133
mph 1/4 93.20

And here is the kicker.. I never went over 1,200 on the EGT gauge.. I will be happy running it as high as 1,400 in the 1/4 mile.
