holley black or air dog?

have some 5x.016 injectors comming this week but i wanna get a new hp lift pump before i put them in. which ones are better bang for the buck? from what i see you can get the holley black from summit pretty cheep but you need to buy fittings and and fuel lines separate unless some one on here knows where to get a package type deal. Or air dog raptor or 150? any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

I have an AirDog 150 on mine, it is relatively quiet, filters the fuel well, gets rid of entrained air and is guaranteed for life. What more could you ask of a fuel pump?

hey-Hey!!!,
According to Holley, the Black and Blue pumps don't take well to diesel. I have a Carter 4601 on mine, and it works well. Same specs as the Black( give or take a wee bit ), and no bits bothered by Diesel.

Been running a Holly black for going on 2 years now with no problems, i don't dought there are better pumps out there but as stated above
what more can i ask out of a fuel pump, 12 psi idle, 10 psi WOT under load.

I'm no fuel expert by any means, but I can't see what could possible be worse about diesel than gas.

It just seems like an easier fuel for seals and gaskets to get along with, not to mention a better lubricator of moving parts.

Diesel swells the fuel line,o-rings,and rubber gasketting that live with gas. Takes a while but it will all most double the size of normal 3/8 rubber gasoline fuel line.

diesel fuel will swell rubber gas line for shure, i have changed mine every year.

You've probably spent enough on it to replace it with diesel rated hose twice over now right?

I added one of those cheapy inline fuel filters in front of my LPLP back when I first put it on. Better remember to check that hose I used, huh?

I love my airdog 150 personally. Cheap filters, easy to service, warranty, ^^ like stated above what more could you ask for from a electric pump.

I used a Walbro 392. It kept the pressure at 16-18psi with Non-IC'd injectors and pump tuned by me.

Walbro was $120, $104 for the regulator, and miscellaneous for fittings and fuel line.
