If you think it'll work if you move it more, just move it a spline or two in that direction. Nothing special to it from the outside.

However, since it did work before, it does sound like something internal might have moved around or something.

Have you looked at your old solenoid yet?

No because I dont want to take the pump top off just to get the solenoid out. I ordered a new solenoid and also a gasket kit on ebay this morning.

You don't have to take the pump top off to get to the fss.

The 2nd wire is for the KSB. It feeds from the FSS to a sensor, then back to the KSB.

Ok thanks so one wire on the Fss is the ignition switched hot while the other one is a power take off for the ksb.

What is the preferred method of removing the Fss without taking the pump top off? Looks impossible to get a wrench on...

Is this a specialty wrench I need to buy? Or will a big craftsman combo wrench fit?

I used a hydraulic fitting double ended open style wrench, its not specific, but no, i dont think a regular combo wrench would work

Ok well I played with the adjustment tonight and I was able to make the shutdown lever work without re-indexing it... I just had to completely back out the stop screw till the lever hits the pump now.

Im happy at least I have a way to kill it safely for now!

Yeah it shuts down quick... I was gonna get a pull cable for now but I couldn't find the one I wanted at tractor supply. Also not sure where I would put it under the dash, not much room between the brake lever and hood release, and no metal bracket on the rh side of the fuse block.

I ordered the solenoid and a VE gasket kit on eBay, might just wait and put the new solenoid in...

Anybody know what size wrench fits the solenoid? New one isn't here yet to try.

I got some thin metel cable, 2 wire clamps, a hitch pin with a handle, and a eye bolt... Less than $10 at northern tool and it worked hundreds of times! Mine is mounted above brake pedel and the right. Have pics in my photobucket

also, there is a bracket used for the high idle adjustment on early trucks, ive got an extra I believe, ill check when I go look at parts tonight or tomorro, its a nice little bracket that mounts up under the dash. you could use that for your pull cable bracket...or make somethign similar

Ok well I got the new solenoid in the mail so I just gotta get a wrench. I don't have a big enough crows foot in my set. I wanna try that and see how long it lasts for before I commit to a pull cable...
