If you wanted to be unique, you could run "twin" turbos. For example, the H1C feeding cylinders 1-3 and the HX35 feeding 4-6. It would be a nightmare to plumb, exhaust and air-wise, especially with an intercooler. But i'd wager you'd be the only one in your area to do such a thing

He said cool, not unique.

Compounds definitely look cool, so you can't fault him for wanting them. I just don't see twins looking all that cool compared to compounds. The only good thing about them would be having true dual exhausts, and all the cool kids are doing triples for that anyways.

2>1, especially in turbos

It'd be interesting to see twin HX35s, a manifold that you can mount 2 turbos on, twin cross over pipes, 2 down pipes combining into one exhaust. I'd bet it would be pretty efficient and run cool.

But not interesting enough for me to try it, see my sig ;)

Would it be better than a single h1c or hx35? I could run all my own piping so i could keep the costs down... I know it sounds useless but i think it would be neat and benifit slightly from it... Compounds are cool in general. Haha

Here is where terminology gets confusing. To me, compounds indicates one turbo feeding another. Twins technically means two of the same sharing the load, in my mind. I offend as bad as any in this area.

True twin turbos would split the work. They wouldn't spool faster and I don't think you could get any more boost, but it would for sure look and sound cool. I just can't see where one turbo feeding another of roughly the same size does much good

Tsbourne- you have a PM

I was told 24v guys tried this once. Twin HX35s with a split exhaust manifold. It would constantly surged and never really spooled.

Now twin HE351 VGTs and you are golden.

52psi will probably make for a pretty short lifespan for that HX FWIW.

Might wanna throw the 'gate back on and drill it out if need be to keep it down. Those things are spinning hella fast to get that much PSI built up.

I'll agree with him. Although I'm not quite sure what "hella" means I do know that an HX35 is living on borrowed time if you keep it pushing 50psi. You're way out of it's map range and it's jus blowing hot air after about 30-35psi. Sounds like you need a bigger turbo. :)

I was told that at 32psi on the HX35 is around 130k shaft rpms. I can only imagine how fast it is spinning at 50psi.
