recommended injector FOR towing

Postby ellis93 » Sat Feb 18, 2012 8:51 pm

I gross out between 12 and 14k on a regular basis with a top of 17k,so far for any distance. I would like to stay with my current turbo and was hoping to get an injector that would work well with it besides stock. From the searching and reading I've done it would seem a 5x10 or 12 would be best. What's ya'll opinion on this? :bom:

I had a line on some tips being thrown on my stockers that turned into a pipe dream from a liar,,,,so I also want to ask were from on an individual or company? I've PMed JKidd from Diesel Auto Power about some 5x10s and 12s he has. Anyone know how those do?

Well, everyone has their opinions on this subject. From all the threads on several forums, plus dealer and manufacturer claims I've come to the opinion that more smaller holes is better for towing. I've had 5X012 and EGTs was a constant problem. A set of 7X010 or 011 is they way I'm leaning right now.

These are the ones I'm eying right now http://www.cumminsperformanceparts.com/ ... cin12.html . They are the correct spray angle too. There is someone else, but off hand can't think of who. I believe a 6 or 7 hole is the way to go, but that's me. If you can find someone to open up the stock 6X009 to a 010 or 011, that might be cheaper.

Looking at your sig I see one thing to your advantage 4.10 and 2 things you might consider. Replace the 14cm housing with a 16 and upgrade to a power stroke intercooler. Both will lower your EGT on the long pulls.

After reading smokems post on injectors in the sticky section it would seem that he favors the SAC nozzles over the VCO's. Would any of that apply with my wanting an injector for towing.
Only reason I'm asking is because I don't have a freakin clue :|

I cannot decide between 5x12 & 7x10 myself. I'd like to know how those 7x10's work for ya, as I tow about the same as you.
