It really depends, like Biltit said, 15psi is an average number, I personally have run 24-26psi, with no problems, but other folks have run alot lower and pushed the front seal out...

I "had" a cobbled low pressure piston lift pump, it had a clipped and stretched spring. I didn't know it would put out such high numbers until I installed it and ran it, I bought it used  Should have bought new. I thought it was the gauge goofing up, but it wasn't the case.

I want to run the highest I can I'd really like for it to be at 20 at idle but I don't want to risk blowing out the seal

This is just my figuring here, but if you want power/to go fast, there's an excuse to bump timing a tooth. If you're in there, Lock-Tite the seal. You can check the KDP too.

If it were my pump, and I wanted to Locktite the seal, I'd use the GREEN product as it is designed to be applied after assembly.

It's my opinion that the other Locktite products (red & blue), being designed to be applied before assembly, are upon installation, wiped away by the interference-fit of the seal.

That being said, there's a problem with my process. The GREEN product is to be applied after the seal is installed. It's designed to "Wick" into the joint. The thing is, who says diesel fuel can't wick out the same joint? If diesel fuel isn't already leaking out, what would assure me the Locktite compound would leak in?

My point is, I think the seal's interference-fit, combined with the sealing product already on the factory seal, are gonna negate any real improvements over the original design. :?

Still, folks have done it, and apparently with good success.

Based on my experience, I don't know that the typical 12mm IP is gonna benefit from an inlet pressure of over 15psig. I'm well over 400hp to the ground with 12psig.

I have made over 400 rwhp with 0 psi of inlet pressure (not advised) I noticed an increase in performance/response anytime I increased inlet pressure....up to 12 psi. After that I noticed/gained nothing. I recommend 12 psi at idle max. I have ran upwards of 20 psi without blowing a seal, but why take a chance. People have had issues with anything over 14 psi, not all but some.

stock psi is 3-5 psi. These readings are all post filter and what the injection pump actually sees.
