max MPG!

Most people get caught up in the horsepower and speed of these motors. What is the max economy one can pull from these. Has anyone got into the 30's !

JQmile has gotten north of 25 mpg (27?) in a 2wd with a 47RH. I hope to be able to duplicate or exceed those numbers soon

I've gotten 24 MPG with a 2wd Getrag Non I/C. I used to average 20-21 MPG though.

I got 24 on my first fill up of the conversion. Only about 50 miles of that was towing. Working on my second tank but having trouble keeping my foot out of it

I know  but for once, I would like to hit 20. I wouldn't mind taking it on a trip where I can run for several hours and really check, the longest my truck has been driven since SOP is to Cedar Rapids IA and back only one hour from the house

Dang it Pete! Driving the Vdub is the only way I can afford to run the 92 :( , but now that the snow is coming, I won't be caught dead driving the "cah", the 92 is just about my only way to bust through the snow in my area on my daily 5 a.m. commute, the roads aren't bladed around here often...

Before i ripped my truck apart it was avg around 25 mpg on my commute, it was a 91 non i/c with pump upgrades and straight piped.....and this was with the stock 727.....Just about everyone I have told says its bs, no way it got that with no od, but it did. btw it was 2wd, single cab.....hoping i can break 30 with od and a lighter car!!!!
1930 Model A, 91 non i/c, he351ve over ht3b, bagged all around, mostly built 47rh, 72 lpm sticks, 600hp/1400 ft lbs (cummins math), just needs traction

I hit 20.8 once back when i had the 727 and the injection pump wasn't stock. I can't remember is i pulled any hay wagons that tank or not

I swapped in that 47RH having dreams of 25+ mpg, but i promptly killed it

Got 20.0 mpg out of mine before. :D 400 miles round trip to WI. The stock H1C w/ 21 housing too boot.

Checked my 1st tank since the HE351Ve swap. 14.6 (but just short trip crap). :( Usually 17-18 range before, in those conditions.

Bumped the timing when I put the VE back on after I replaced the tappet cover gasket this past weekend. Only 28 miles since, so we'll see. If it still sucks, I'm getting a rebuild kit for the H1C and its going back on. Probably put a GDS 60 and 14 or 16 housing on it though.
